I paint for my own soul. Reality, in my art is reduced to signs and symbols, it's not a photograph of every detail I want to present. I oblige the viewer to get close to me, reconstructing the reality that I reduced to a symbol. This is how my public interacts with me - when their reality meets mine. If it does not, no problem... I belive that one can view a thing from infinite perspectives. My art forces the viewer - accustomed to receiving everything complete - to become profound, to redefine his reality through an exercise of imagination. I don't want to paint art that looks good! But art that becomes alive with and through my public's eye. My works exist by interraction with you, my viewers. They need so much more than just a space in an exhibition. In my works I like to play with colors, because I give birth to shape through my play with cromatic harmonies. I don't have a style. I don't seek one. I might be identified with one, but I don't intend to limit myself to any current or style whatsoever. Art is for everyone, and I adress myself to all! -- Codruta Dobre
